Bruce
Kenemer grew up in Detroit, Michigan.
Went to Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tn. 1971-1975
Employed at the Dalton Whitfield Group Home as Director from
Sept. 1977 to January 1980.
Married to wife, Otivia, with one son, Ben and one daughter, Amanda.
Employed with DJJ on July 16, 1980
Started out as a court service worker at the Whitfield Community
Treatment Center. In his office he was the director, court service
worker, secretary….etc. The CTC later transitioned into a part of
Court Services where he became a Court Service Senior on 2-1-95.
Later this position turned into a JPPS III.
Bruce has been very active through the years with many different
divisions of community agencies, such as The Summer Work
Program, The Family Collaborative, Children & Families First,
Family Support Council, Truancy Treatment Team, and the Super II
Program, as one of their instructors. For the past several summers
he has worked with the Summer Lunch Program, transporting local
community kids to the Mill Creek Baptist Church for their summer
lunches.
He is a member and deacon at the Mill Creek Rd. Baptist Church.
Bruce is currently on the board at the Whitfield Co. Family
Collaborative
and the Truancy Treatment Team. He is on the Board of Directors at the
Heartland Ranch, in Catoosa County, Ga. He is involved with the Vision
of Hope Program in dealing with the prevention of teen pregnancy.
He is an avid Michigan Wolverine Football fan.
On June 30, 2008, Bruce will retire from the Georgia Dept. of Juvenile
Justice
with 30 years of service.
